Drone Diplomacy

When Euro-Christianity began to take root in 1600s Japan, the traditional Tokugawa Shogun leadership of feudal Edo era introduced Sakoku, a strategy of seclusion for sociocultural security. A Sit@Home policy! It lasted 200 years… until Western imperialism soiled the sanctity of Sakoku. In 1853, USA Commodore Matthew Perry showed up with warships. USA coerced Japan to sign the Treaty of Kanagawa and open two ports.

In the 20th century, “Gunboat Diplomacy” became a policy of coercing countries to change policies considered unfavorable to Western interests. Many methods of muscling weaker countries evolved: Theodore Roosevelt’s Big Stick. IMF. World Bank. Foreign Aid. Assassinations. Coups d‘état. Regime Change. Sanctions….

Things are changing. Naturally. The big brothers still sail the seas, but the tools of coercion are less showy diplomacy and more naked aggression. The ongoing war in Iran informs. From freezing assets and forced negotiations unilaterally abrogated to bombing by Israeli proxy and direct stealth B-2 bombers, Iran did not bulge.

Since the Ayatollah was neither Noriega (Panama) nor Maduro (Venezuela), something else must go down. Whether driven by Epstein Files or by Epic Fury, something surfaced on Saturday, February 28, 2026: A new world order of might must make right… in which warships still sail, but airpower now rules the skies. Dozens of drones dominate and deliver deaths to demonstrate the dawn of ‘Drone Diplomacy.’
